ABOUT BAYSIDE LOG HOMES
We became involved in the Log Home Industry in 1983 in Ontario. Having been intrigued with log homes for years; the cozy warm feeling, emanating from the light, cast from the wood created an atmosphere of peace and serenity. We designed and built three log homes in Ontario in which we lived and used as show homes for the log business we started. We established 12 dealers over the ensuing 10 years and sold three hundred or so Log Home Packages.
The construction of these homes was generally done by the customer using local contractors to build the home, once the log walls were erected. The process of erecting the logs was usually two days and then the buyer or his contractor would take over the actual home building. We are able to offer much experience and knowledge of log construction. The following links will show you two of the homes we designed and built. The first was what we will call (The Blue House), , it was a raised 3 bedroom bungalow. The second will show an 1811 United Empire Loyalist Rubble Stone farmhouse to which we added two additions. One being a log double car garage and the other a log living room addition (Stone with Log Additions). Have a look and you will see that there is a great deal of flexibility in log structures. Most packages are sold as standard because the price point of standard packages is more favorable.
In 2000 we made the move to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. It's been a thrilling page in our personal, as well as, business history. We saw tremendous potential here and quickly proceeded to enter in to the real estate market and now operate (CENTURY 21 Bayside Real Estate).
Our interest in log homes has never left and coupling that with the real estate we have available for development, we again became interested in log home sales. We were fortunate to be accepted as the Nova Scotia Dealer for Laurentien Log Homes of Val Morin Quebec. We are now their newest dealer and the only one in Atlantic Canada. We are situated on the Trans Canada Highway #105, on Cape Breton Island, between Baddeck and North Sydney just past the Seal Island Bridge.
